Dan Kwaku Yeboah
Spokesperson for the GFA Normalisation Committee (NC), Dan Kwaku Yeboah, has resigned, citing personal reasons.
The head of sports for Despite Group tendered his resignation last Friday.
A letter addressed to the President of the NC, Dr. Kofi Amoah, sighted by this paper reads:
“I hereby inform you about my decision to resign as the spokesperson for the Normalization Committee effective 2nd September, 2019.
The decision is for very personal reasons “My deep appreciation to the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
“I thank the Minister for Youth and Sports, Isaac Asiamah MP, for the support and guidance throughout.”
The letter added, “To members of the Normalization Committee, I say thank you for the opportunity to work together for Ghana.
“Finally, to the people of Ghana, for the opportunity to serve our dear nation.
“I wish Ghana football the enviable laurels of old as we strive for success going forward.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Yeboah has confirmed the news, adding that he has left behind what he termed a communication legacy that would set up the new GFA to succeed.
He said, “In my one year experience working with the Ghana Football Association’s Normalisation Committee I came to an apparent realisation that there are clear policy lacunas at the association’s communications department and in view of that I took the initiative to develop a communications policy document which I have handed over to the GFA Secretariat.
“I believe that the implementation of the policy will be the vehicle to drive the communications of the association forward and restore public confidence in the future. A document defining the corporate social responsibility and sustainability plan was also not documented,” he added
“I have also taken the initiative to put together a formidable policy on CSR and sustainability for the association. I strongly believe that implementation and execution of the policy will restore the trust and the feel-good factor Ghanaians used to have towards local football in the country,” Mr. Yeboah concluded.
