FAST-RISING Ghanaian musician and rapper, Lalid, born Samuel Aboagye, has tipped colleague rapper Medikal to win the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Artiste of the Year.
Speaking in an interview with AJ Sarpong on 3FM, Lalid stated that he was fully rooting for Medikal, stressing that the artiste has worked hard under the year in review, hence he deserves the ultimate prize.
“For the Artiste of the Year, I am rooting for Medikal all the way,” he said. Medikal has secured nomination for Artiste of the Year category at the 27th TGMA, scheduled for May 9, 2026.
He faces heavy competition from the likes of Black Sherif, Stonebwoy, Wendy Shay, Sarkodie, and Diana Hamilton.
Following the nomination announcement, the rapper has strongly asserted that he deserves to win, citing superior performance and hard work over the past year.
Medikal secured eight nominations in total at the 27th TGMA, including Album/EP of the Year (for Disturbation 2), Best Hiplife/Hip-hop Artiste, and Most Popular Song of the Year (“Shoulder”).
