Victim showing her bitten ear
A 40-year-old woman is receiving treatment after her landlord’s wife allegedly bit off part of her ear during a fight at Fufuo in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region.
The victim, identified as Yaa Achiaa, is nursing serious injuries following the incident which occurred after a disagreement over the disciplining of a child.
Police have not yet commented on the matter, but residents say the case has left the community in shock.
According to the victim’s account, she was correcting her daughter over alleged misconduct when her landlord’s wife, identified only as Afia, intervened and allegedly incited the child against her mother.
Yaa Achiaa reportedly confronted Afia for encouraging the child to disobey her. An exchange of words ensued and degenerated into a physical confrontation.
In the course of the struggle, Afia allegedly bit off part of Yaa Achiaa’s ear, leaving her bleeding profusely.
Residents who witnessed the incident quickly intervened to separate the two women and rushed the victim to a nearby health facility where she received first aid.
Residents have called for a full investigation into the incident to prevent reprisal and further escalation.
