Laurel Gas Honoured At GOWA Awards

Ghanaian Geoscientist and Entrepreneur, Laura Akafful has been honored at the sixth edition of the Ghana Outstanding Women Award (GOWA) held last Sunday in Accra.

Organized by ASKOF Productions, Ghana Outstanding Women Awards, (GOWA), for years has celebrated Women who are devoted to the welfare of humanity and are impacting their societies or individual lives.

Laura Akafful who doubles as the founder and CEO of Laurel Gas Resources, a downstream petroleum company was acknowledged for bringing the benefit of clean energy to many homes and businesses in Ghana.

In her acceptance speech she said, “I am very elated to be honoured for my contribution to the petroleum downstream sector. This award will go a long way to encourage me and my team of expertise to do exploit in the sector in our quest to provide clean energy to Ghanaians”.

As the CEO of Laurel Gas Resources, the company has trained  young people to promote clean energy and the use of Liquefied Petroleum Gas in the country through technology and continuous innovation.

Laurel Gas Resources, currently provide a safe and efficient last mile gas delivery in Accra called GasNow and are the leading gas safety service provider for homes and businesses.

The company is researching into the future of BioLPG to contribute to reducing carbon emissions of energy sources and also to reduce the price of gas, especially in rural areas.
