Head pastor of Calvary Charismatic Centre (CCC), Rev. Ransford Obeng, has urged Ghanaians to give the leadership of the country time to build and grow the nation’s economy for the welfare of all and sundry.
He wants the citizens to keep reposing their confidence in the government of President Akufo-Addo, whom he describes as “a good man with good intentions for Ghanaians.”
According to him, growth, even though uneven, is gradual and can never be rushed, and therefore requires time to gradually and continually move towards perfection and success.
He stated: “Before we can run we must walk, and we can never truly grow if we never go through pains and sufferings since growth and change are painful. Anything good has a seed of slow growth, and we must undergo and withstand the pains of surgery before we can get relief from our sufferings”.
The head pastor was speaking in an interaction with journalists yesterday ahead of a two-day spiritual encounter programme of CCC with Rev. Eastwood Anaba at Ayigya in the Oforikrom Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
Rev. Obeng said there is a spiritual component of anything that occurs physically, and that the current hardship has spiritual undertones that require men of God to tackle them with prayers.
He said the spiritual encounter event would come off on Thursday and Friday evenings to allow the working class to partake and get the words to live in their tough times.
“We need a current word for the current situation. Now, I see something on the horizon. The way God designed everything; any good growth takes time. I believe that the people we have elected are good. Let us give them enough time because anything good takes time to grow,” he stressed.
Rev. Obeng asserted that it is always not easy for people with good intentions, and “that is why the President needs our prayers”.
When asked what message he would give to the President if he met him personally, the man of God said he would ask Nana Akufo-Addo to put his feet down and stem corruption as he has propagated, indicating that the canker is still lingering on in society.
