The Member of Parliament (MP) for Akwapim South in the Eastern Region, Osei Bonsu Amoah, has called on his constituents as well as all New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates in the constituency to unite behind him to fast-track the development of the Akwapim South Municipality after a landslide win in the primary on Saturday.

The incumbent MP, who contested with two other aspirants, Kwame Ofori Gyau and Eric Samuel Annor, and won convincingly with over 70% of the votes, also called on other aspirants across the country who won in their respective constituencies to unite their constituents for the party’s victory in the December 2020 general elections.

Mr. Amoah garnered 266 votes in the primary; followed by Kwame Ofori Gyau, who had 94 votes, while Eric Samuel Annor had 73 votes.

O.B. Amoah, who is also a Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, said his immediate focus would be how to sensitize and mobilize his constituents to register for the general elections during the Electoral Commission’s upcoming registration exercise.

“I have to make sure as many qualified people as possible, especially the youth, register in the coming registration exercise and vote for a brighter future under Nana Akufo-Addo,” he said.

He also indicated that after the registration exercise he would embark on a more vigorous campaign to win more votes in the 2020 general elections, stressing that he will need the support of all the aspirants who contested with him and lost to achieve that.

“I want Akwapim South to become a shining example so far as development is concerned; and I will like all the chiefs in the area to stand solidly behind me to ensure total development in the municipality,” he added.
