Lumba’s Mum Mistook Me For Her Son– Nana Acheampong

Nana Acheampong and Daddy Lumba

Veteran singer, Nana Acheampong, has revealed an interesting anecdote about his uncanny resemblance to fellow musician, Daddy Lumba, recounting a moment when Lumba’s mother mistook him for her son.

In an interview with GhPage, Nana Acheampong disclosed that despite the constant comparisons and mistaken identities, he and Daddy Lumba are not blood-related, though they regard each other as brothers.

“People think we are blood brothers or twins,” Nana Acheampong shared.

“We find ourselves doing the same things even if we are out of each other’s sight. For instance, when I made my hairstyle, I didn’t even know he had done the same thing. Look at my face, my hair, and look at his,” he said.

He went on to recall a humorous incident when Daddy Lumba’s mother mistook him for her son. “I remember I had this outfit that I didn’t know he also had.

“There was an instance where I went to visit Lumba’s mother one day and she thought it was her son. She said, ‘Kwadwo, why didn’t you tell me before coming?’,” he recalled.

Once again addressing rumours of rivalry between them, Nana Acheampong clarified that there is no animosity between him and Daddy Lumba.

He explained that their decision to pursue solo careers was amicable and not the result of any feud.

“There is no bad blood between my brother Lumba and I,” Nana Acheampong emphasised.

“We never said we were fighting and informed you to also fight. You were the ones who made up your minds to fight because you thought we were fighting. I think people didn’t understand why we had to split up,” he added.

He concluded by highlighting the misconception surrounding their separation, noting that the public assumed they had a fallout when, in reality, it was a mutual decision to pursue individual paths in their music careers.
