Sherif Abdul Majeed, known by his stage name Maccasio, has been named the Ghana Northern Music Awards (GNMA) Overall Artiste of the Year.
Maccasio was presented with a brand new Honda Civic. New Artiste of the Year, Mac Jombo, also received a brand new motorbike.
Multiple award-winning artiste, Mujahid Ahmed Bello, known as Fancy Gadam, joined Maccasio and other performers to thrill music lovers with back-to-back performances at the awards event.
Abdul Rahman Abdul Ganiyyu Sakora, Chief Executive Officer of GNMA, thanked the people of the five northern regions for turning out to support the event.
He urged musicians from the region to continue showcasing northern and Ghanaian culture and heritage on the global stage through their craft, and assured attendees that next year’s awards will be even bigger and better.
Maccasio expressed his gratitude to the GNMA board and his fans for the recognition.
“I am deeply humbled, grateful, and honoured to have been part of this prestigious awards. It means the world to me to be recognised for my hard work. To my incredible fans, this belongs to you, your unwavering love and support have lifted me up more than words can say.
