Maccasio on GMA UK red carpet

Sherif Abdul-Majeed, known popularly as Maccasio, won the reggae dancehall song of the year at the 2019 edition of the Ghana Music Awards UK held at the Discovery Centre in London on Saturday with his song titled ‘Dagomba Girl’.

Maccasio beat Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and Samini to win the award.

The Ghana Music Awards UK, which is organised for Ghanaian musicians in Ghana and UK, is an annual event aimed at recognising the hard work of Ghanaian musicians.

In an interview with NEWS-ONE, Maccasio expressed his gratitude to the organisers and his fans for believing and voting massively for him.

“I can’t even describe how I feel right now. Looking at where I am from and to beat stars like Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Samini, it feels special and this was possible because of the love shown me by the fans and I appreciate everything,” he said.

The artiste urged Ghanaian musicians in the UK to visit northern Ghana and explore special talents and other tourist sites like Mole, Larabanga, Salaga Slave Market and other places of their origin.
