NPP Chairman Bugri Naabu addressing party supporters
The Northern Regional Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has stated that the ballot boxes will be protected by ‘macho’ men to prevent the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) from rigging the elections on December 7.
According to him, the NPP would ensure that 40 well-built men would be assigned to take care of the ballot boxes.
“If we don’t do these things, they will again come and steal ballot boxes and run away with them so we will protect them ourselves.
He made this statement at the campaign launch of Mohammed Abdul Somed Gunu, the NPP parliamentary candidate for Savelugu.
Mr Bugri alleged that evidence presented to the Supreme Court during the election petition hearing showed that the NDC rigged the elections in the country.
“You all saw what happened at the Supreme Court and how NDC rigged the elections.
The outspoken chairman urged electorate to reject the incompetent Mahama administration and vote massively for the NPP to save Ghana.
The Savelugu seat will be keenly contested by the aspirants since the NDC MP Mary Boforo was defeated by Alhassan Abdallah Red, who is also the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the area.
Information reaching DAILY GUIDE indicates that there is internal wrangling in NDC in Savelugu.
Mohammed Abdul Somed Gunu reiterated the commitment of the NPP to bring massive development to Savelugu if voted into power.
According to him, the Nana Addo’s administration has ambitious plans to develop the three North regions, adding that the people of Savelugu would benefit from the one-district one factory policy of the NPP.
