A man who appears to be mentally retarded has done the unthinkable by smashing the windscreens of three cars in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital.
The weird incident happened at Adum, the Central Business District (CBD) of the city on Wednesday afternoon.
The damaged vehicles were parked behind the Ashanti Regional Police quarters, which is a security zone.
The man stormed the place from nowhere and smashed the windscreens of the cars with concrete blocks.
The mentally retarded person reportedly covered himself with human excreta and used that to ward off onlookers who attempted to prevent him from causing further damage to the cars.
The mad man was also said to be very ‘charged’ so people at the scene were even afraid to confront him.
Some of the people shouted at the mentally retarded man to stop, but their calls fell on deaf ears.
After smashing the windscreen of the three vehicles, he appeared ‘satisfied’ and moved a few metres from the location.
According to reports, he later sat down quietly.
Some eyewitnesses questioned why the city authorities would allow people suffering from mental disorders to loiter in the city.
