The third edition of an event dubbed ‘Made In Ghana UK Fashion Show’ will take place on March 23 at the Manchester Central Hall, Oldham Street Piccadilly, M1 1JQ in UK.

The fashion show, which forms part of activities lined up to celebrate Ghana’s 62nd Independence Day celebrations, will bring together fashion lovers, fashion designers and fashion industry stakeholders on one platform to celebrate the rich Ghanaian culture through fashion, music and food.

Over 900 Ghanaians and Africans living in Manchester are expected to grace the event, which is being organised by Made In Ghana UK and Laboro Ghana, in collaboration with Made In Ghana Fashion Manchester.

It is supported by the ‘See Ghana, Eat Ghana, Wear Ghana, Feel Ghana’ campaign, which is being championed by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture.

According to Nana Konadu Agyeman Bonsu, Director of Musicbiz Ghana, who is also Made In Ghana UK local representative, the show will be used to promote Ghanaian culture, tourism and music.

There will also be live musical performances from some selected local and international artistes to entertain patrons at the event.

“We want to use this year’s event as a platform to promote made-in-Ghana products, music and culture on the international market. There will be series of activities to entertain patrons at the event,” she added.

On his part, Foster Oduro, Executive Coordinator of Made In Ghana-UK, stated that this year’s edition of the show “is packed with a lot of activities to keep patrons entertained as they shop for products made in Ghana.”

“The fashion show will also provide the platform for Ghanaian and African fashion designers to display on the runway some of their exclusive designs,” he pointed out.

Mr. Oduro revealed that some individuals and organisations who have contributed toward the development of Ghana’s creative industry will be honoured by the organisers of the event.

Made In Ghana Fashion UK is sponsored by RIA Money Transfer, Aqua Safari Resort and supported by Chocolat Hair, Ancoats Car Sales, Amari Heritage, Kato Enterprise, ChefJulze, Musicbiz Ghana and the Ghana High Commission in London.
