Madina MP Police Bodyguard Interdicted Over Reckless Driving

The Ghana Police Service administration has interdicted Inspector Daniel Agbavor, a guard assigned to the Member of Parliament for Madina, Francis Xavier Sosu for alleged misconduct.

Inspector Agbavor was said to have driven into a crowd after a protest march engineered by the MP last Monday, October 25, 2021.

The Police in a statement, issued and signed by the Director-General, Public Affairs, ACP Kwesi Ofori, said the action of the officer directly endangered the lives of two senior officers as well as the life of civilians.

Due to that, the parliamentary protection unit has, however, been tasked to provide a new guard to the MP.

No Arrest

Meanwhile, the Police have denied the claims that personnel were sent to arrest the embattled MP, Francis Xavier Sosu in church.

According to the Police, the said stories circulating on the arrest of Sosu on his church premises are untrue.

The statement further added that any plain police personnel found on the premises of the church may have been there for intelligence purposes and not to effect an arrest.

The Police only stated that on the day of the protest Sosu was invited but declined to honor the invitation.

The police have stated that it would try all legal means necessary to interrogate the Madina MP.
