Mahama Is No Match For Bawumia – Akosua Amoabeng

MEMBER OF Parliament (MP) aspirant for the Lower Akim constituency in the Eastern Region, Grace Akosua Amoabeng, has entreated Ghanaians to shy away from comparing Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia with former President John Dramani Mahama.

According to Akosua Amoabeng, Dr. Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, has over the years exhibited skills, expertise, and leadership qualities toward the development of the country’s economy even as the Vice President whereas former President Mahama, during his tenure as Vice President and President, had no credible records to show.

“Dr. Bawumia is an economist by profession with an incredible record which is evident in his digitalisation drive that has seen tremendous growth in the country’s economic landscape.

This includes mobile money interoperability, a paperless port system, and the national identification system,” she said,

This, she said, has resulted in enormous business opportunities and better access to essential services such as health and education.

Madam Akosua Amoabeng further noted that, “Mahama, as Vice President under late President Atta Mills, was investigated for his dubious aircraft purchase yet he is claiming to be incorruptible and wants to lead the country as President after causing financial loss to the country leading to economic downslide amid excessive public spending under his watch.”

She said, “It’s very sad to see people trying to compare Bawumia to Mahama, because the current Vice President has been able to achieve a lot over the years. This should just give Ghanaians the hope that when voted into power, he will do exploits,” she added.

Madam Akosua Amoabeng said since Mahama was elected as his party’s flagbearer, he has not been able to project his initiatives to help Ghanaians but has rather been engaging in baseless arguments while Bawumia on the other hand, has started selling his campaign messages to the good people of Ghana giving them many reasons to vote for him as President.

“These are two different people who should not be compared under any circumstances,” she stated. She also added that Dr. Bawumia is credible and has the support of the masses to break the eight, adding that the NPP leadership including the grassroots will work together in unity ahead of December 8, 2024.

Akosua Amoabeng made the statement on Onua TV’s ‘Pae Mu Ka’ political show.
