Akumaa Mama Zimbi presenting a cheque to a staff of Klo-Akwapim R/C Basic School
Ace radio presenter Akumaa Mama Zimbi and her Mama Zimbi Foundation on Thursday joined the Zoe Humanitarian Projects to put smiles on the faces of inmates of the Akropong School for the Blind and also commissioned a renovation project for Klo-Akwapim R/C Basic School in the Eastern Region.
The Zoe Humanitarian Projects, a non-profit organisation, was established with the aim of empowering children and the youth as a whole with greater focus on those that are disadvantaged.
The organisation seeks to promote equity and improve lives through social interventions. Its core mandate is rooted in areas of education and health.
The Zoe Humanitarian Projects idea was conceived when Zoe, an Afro-Italian girl, was born. This blessing (Zoe) received marked the beginning of giving back to children in Ghana.
The organisation seeks to support children between the ages of one and six through its interest areas? education, health and empowerment.
As it is done each year by the team, this year was no different, as donations were made to a Yilo Krobo school and the Akropong School for the Blind to mark the third birthday of little Zoe.
“As luck would have it, we are blessed to have on board Akumaa Mama Zimbi, a well-known public figure as part of our team this year,” this was announced by Loretta Asante, Director of Zoe Humanitarian Projects.
Touching further on the donations, Ms. Asante disclosed that an amount of GH¢ 45,000 would be used in renovating the Klo-Akwapim R/C Basic School, and it is expected to be unveiled by an individual whose appointment to join the team would be announced later in December.
A party was also held for the children at the Akropong School for the Blind whilst donating food and study materials.
