Man, 29, Murdered At Kotobabi

A fight between two ladies at Kotobabi Gaza Street has led to the death of a 29-year-old man.

Prince Yevu, was stabbed in the throat by a man identified only as Taata when he attempted to stop the fight.

Suspect Taata who is currently at large was not party to the fight but ended up attacking those who attempted to stop the fight.

A 22-year-old woman identified as Latifa lddrisu also received various knife wounds from suspect Taata.

The Accra Regional Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Efia Tenge, when contacted said the incident occurred on Thursday, June 24, 2021 around 9:30pm.

She said when police personnel from the Kotobabi Police visited the scene, the two victims had been rushed to the Mamobi Polyclinic where Yevu was pronounced dead on arrival but Madam Latifa Iddrusi  was  on admission.

DSP Tenge said the body of the deceased was deposited at the Police Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.

“Information gathered at the scene by the police indicated that around 9pm that fateful day, Latifa Iddrisu had a quarrel with Akosua over an issue not know by the police,” DSP Tenge said.

She said in the course of the fight, suspect “Taata” came and attacked Latifa, and Prince Yevu who witnessed the scene moved in to rescue Latifa but suspect slashed his throat with an object suspected to be a knife.

“Police later proceeded to the residence of suspect “Taata” at Alajo to effect his arrest but he was not met,” she stated.

She said efforts are under way to trace and arrest suspect.
