A 43-year-old woman, Madam Lydia Mena, has reportedly been murdered by her husband, identified as Dodzi Dogbe, 53, at a community called Asikuma in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region.

The alleged nasty incident occurred on Tuesday at about 8:00 p.m. after the couple had returned from an evening church service.

The suspect has subsequently been arrested by the police and investigation into the case has commenced.

According to information gathered, the two have been married for about three years. It was gathered that not long ago, the man had some mental challenges and was sent to a health facility for medical attention.

DAILY GUIDE learnt that when the suspect was discharged from the health facility, his mother came to stay with them.

According to sources, on that fateful day, the two went to evening church service together.

“After they had returned, the deceased cooked some food and the two ate together in their room. Strangely, some few minutes later, the mother who was outside saw her son coming out and holding a cutlass with blood all over him.

“The mother quickly rushed to their room and found that the wife’s head has completely been severed off and lying in a pool of blood,” one of the residents narrated.

The resident continued, “The mother started shouting and some of the youth around helped in disarming and arresting the suspect.”

Dodzi Dogbe was later handed over to the police, and the body of his wife was taken to a hospital morgue pending autopsy.
