The suspect in police custody
A 20-YEAR-old man has been apprehended by the Agogo Police in the Ashanti Region for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old girl.
Suspect Daniel Oheneba, reportedly, lured the victim (name withheld) into his room and forcibly had carnal knowledge of her.
The girl afterwards reported her ordeal to her grandmother, Esther Durowaa, who took her to the police station and lodged an official complaint.
The case, according to a police statement sighted by the DAILY GUIDE, happened last Friday at Gyidiem, one of the farming communities in Agogo.
“On October 30, 2026, about 1510 hours, Esther Durowaa, aged 53, of Gyidiem, a suburb of Agogo, came to the charge office with her 13-year-old granddaughter and reported that on October 28, 2026, about 1930 hours, one Daniel Oheneba, 20 years, lured her said granddaughter to his room and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her.
“Statements obtained from both complainant and victim. Police medical report form was issued to complainant to take victim to the hospital for examination,” part of the police report indicated.
According to the Agogo police, they immediately dispatched some personnel who managed to arrest the suspect to assist in police investigations.
“Suspect Daniel Oheneba was arrested and currently in police custody assisting with investigation,” the police statement confirmed.
