Martha Ankomah Rejects Lilwin’s Apology

Martha Ankomah, Lilwin

Actress Martha Ankomah has dismissed an apology from Kumawood actor, Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lilwin, in an ongoing GH¢5 million defamation case.

Ankomah claims the apology lacked the necessary elements of a proper retraction.

The case, filed on February 14, 2024, revolves around alleged defamatory remarks made by Lilwin in a viral video, which Martha argues tarnished her reputation.

She is seeking GH¢5 million in damages, along with a formal apology and a retraction issued with the same level of publicity as the original remarks.

During a hearing on December 13, 2024 held behind closed doors at the Accra High Court, both parties and their legal teams engaged in settlement discussions. The court has adjourned the case to February 25, 2025, to allow further negotiations.

Martha Ankomah’s legal team maintains that any resolution must include a public apology that adequately addresses the damage caused to her reputation.

Meanwhile, Lilwin’s representatives have signaled their willingness to settle the matter out of court.
