Some women receiving their cash
The Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) has supported women groups in Tamale with cash amounting to GH¢ 500,000.
The beneficiary market women are made up of 20 groups with 25 members in each group.
The Northern Regional Director of MASLOC , Yakubu Issah disclosed to journalists that since 2018, MASLOC has offered flexible loans to citizens in the region amounting to GH¢ 6 million.
“A lot of women groups from Tamale market and Aboabo market were given cheques whiles others received cash depending on the amount,” he said.
The MASLOC Manager, however denied allegations that the loans were given to party supporters in the region, adding that the groups knocked at the door of MASLOC and not that they go around selecting the women for the loans.
