There have been massive promotions in the Ghana Police Service with over 1,248 personnel receiving elevation.
The Deputy Ashanti Regional Police Commander ACP/Mr. David Agyemang Adjem is among three other senior officers who have been promoted by the President to their next ranks, according to an announcement made yesterday.
The promotion, which followed the recommendation of the Police Council, included three medical doctors of the Police Hospital – Desmond M. Addo, Christiana A. Asare, and Samuel Ofori. They have moved from the current Chief Superintendent rank to Assistant Commissioner.
One thousand two hundred and forty-four (1,244) junior officers too were promoted by the Inspector General of Police in accordance with the Police Service Regulation 2012 (C.I.76).
Five Inspectors are now Chief Inspectors as 1,224 Corporals become Sergeants. Five Lance Corporals whose promotions were withheld due to cases pending against them can now smile as they wear their new ranks as are four officers who were inadvertently left out of the recent Administrative Promotions.
Three persons whose promotions were deferred and two others who have also been reinstated after acquittal from disciplinary charges have also been promoted.
All the promotions take retrospective effect from 1st January 2020.
