Mikki Osei Berko during the enstoolment
Veteran Ghanaian actor, Mikki Osei Berko, has been enstooled regent of Adamorobe traditional area in the Eastern Region.
The popular screen figure, known for his role as Master Richard in the popular Taxi Driver series and Dada Boat, was enstooled on Friday, April 24, 2026. He was given the stool name Nana Osei Boakye Yiadom II.
A video from the ceremony, which has since gone viral, showed the actor dressed in fugu, paired with shorts as he took part in traditional rites.
Two community leaders were seen holding his hands and guiding him to sit on the stool three times, after which powder was poured on him to signify the completion of the rites.
Born in 1973, Mikki Osei Berko rose to prominence through his roles in the television series Taxi Driver and Dada Boat, becoming one of the most recognisable faces in Ghanaian entertainment.
In addition to acting, he has worked in radio and advertising.
His enstoolment has attracted widespread reactions on social media, with many congratulating him as he takes on a new role of service within the community.
