Milo Hands 4 Debutants AFCON Tickets

Milovan Rajevac

Black Stars trainer, Milovan Rajevac, yesterday handed four new players provisional invitations in his 30-man squad for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The Serbian trainer extended invitation to Great Olympics poster boy Maxwell Abbey Quaye, RTU captain David Abagna, Vitoria Guimaraes’ Khalid Abdul Mumin and Abdul Salis Samed of Clermont Foot.

The quartet will join the rest of their teammates for pre-AFCON training in Qatar at the end of this week.

It is believed that Abbey’s razor sharp form for the Wonders Club, having hit the back of the net eight times this season in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) stirred the technical handlers for the invitation.

He is joined by fellow GPL player David Abagna of Real Tamale United (RTU). Vitoria Guimaraes’ defender Abdul Mumin is receiving a call up for the first time as well as in-form Abdul Salis Samed.

Indications are that the Stars will begin preparations this week before the coach cuts the number to a 28-man squad for the championship in Cameroon next year.

Ghana is housed in Group C with Morocco, Gabon and Comoros Island.
