MEMBERS OF the Ghana Association of Mineral Haulers (GAMH) have indicated the inability of the Ghana Manganese Company to pay a GH¢70,000 debt it owes them, making their operations difficult.
According to the haulers, Ghana Manganese Company has defaulted payment for their services over five months now which altogether sums up to GH¢70,000.
The haulers have appealed to government to intervene in the matter to ensure the payment of the money is effected.
Public Relations Officer for the Association, Michael Odonkor, at a press conference in Accra, recently, said state institutions like the Ministry of Lands and the Minerals Commission, both of which the haulers approached with the matter for assistance, had not been able to help them hence their vulnerable state.
Odonkor noted that the inability of the company to pay them their monies had put them in a difficult situation since they had expended all they had on them.
