Miners Robbed At Gunpoint

FOUR GOLD miners have reportedly been robbed of their unrefined gold, popularly known as ‘Black’ and other items at gunpoint on a highway by five robbers, who all wore masks to hide their identities.

The helpless victims were said to be travelling on the main Apotosu and Adugyama road around 9 a.m. on April 18, 2026 when the hoodlums pounced on them and made away with unrefined gold, guns and a tricycle.

The incident was immediately reported to the Mankranso District Police in the Ashanti Region to investigate. No arrests have been made yet, but the security agents have intensified their investigations to apprehend the robbers.

“On April 18, 2026, at 1400 hours, complainants Abdul Salam Musah, aged 34, with Inusah Moro, aged 31, Mamudu Gafaru aged 25, and Kingsford Ofori Atta, aged 44, all miners and residents of Adugyama, came to the Mankranso Police Station.

“They reported that on same day at about 0920 hours, a group of young men, all wearing face masks, numbering about five, attacked them with guns and robbed them of their unrefined gold popularly known as “Black”, one single barrel gun with registration number ASD/844/25, one pump action gun and one unregistered Apsonic motor tricycle on the stretch between Apotosu and Adugyama.

“After the act, the robbers bolted with the tricycle,” a police statement, which the paper has sighted, said, noting that “the complainants cannot identify the robbers when seen,” but they (victims) strongly suspect someone at Duyan Nkwanta.
