Youth and Sports Minister Isaac Kwame Asiamah has expressed satisfaction with the progress of work so far at the Ho and Koforidua Multi-Purpose Youth Centers.

The Minister and his entourage left the two centres-Ho and Koforidua early this week after inspection; and he was impressed with works on the projects.

To him, the government was keen on living a lasting legacy regarding sports development through infrastructure, hence the  construction of the Multi-Purpose Youth Centers across the country.

In a post-inspection interview, he said “I am happy with the kind of work I have seen, the most important parts, which are the structural erections are good and looks promising.

“Stadium development is a process and this center has the required land for extensions to be done at any given time, which could see the 5,000 capacity being extended further.”

Each Multi-Purpose Youth Center houses over 15 sporting disciplines including basketball, handball and tennis court, as well as an eight-lane tartan track, ICT center, counseling center, entrepreneurship center and a FIFA standard pitch.

It is aimed at creating more avenues for harnessing world champions for Ghana in the future.
