Information reaching DAILY GUIDE indicates that President Akufo-Addo has made changes to his government with some prominent ministers losing their positions to new entrants while others have been moved to other ministries.

According to sources close to the presidency, the yet to be released official reshuffle list was concluded upon following a crunch meeting held on Friday, February 9, at the Jubilee House.

DAILY GUIDE’s source say that up to 12 current, substantive ministers of state are affected, including ten cabinet ministers and two regional ministers.

It is also anticipated that about seven deputy ministers will lose their positions as well.

Amongst the outgoing ministers is Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, who is being replaced by Dr. Mohammed Amin Anta, Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance.

The Health Minister, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, is also leaving his position for Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye, current CEO of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).

Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery, is also vacating his position for Henry Quartey, current Greater Accra Regional Minister.

Member of Parliament for Tema East, Titus Glover, will be taking over as the Greater Accra Regional Minister while Deputy Minister for Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah, takes over from his boss Dan Botwe.

Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, will be heading to the Ministry of Works and Housing as Deputy Minister of Information, while Fatima Abubakar takes over from her boss.

Meanwhile, the Minister for Works and Housing, Asenso Boakye goes to the Ministry of Road and Highways in place of Kwasi Amoako-Atta.

The Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI), Dr. Kwaku Afriyie, is vacating his post for Ophelia Hayford, MP for Mfantseman.

Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Seyram Alhassan is the new Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, taking over from Freda Prempeh.

The Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection Lariba Zuweira Abudu, is vacating her position for Okaikwei South Member of Parliament, Dakoa Newman.

The last major change to government was a month after former Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen and Agriculture Minister Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto resigned to focus on their political campaigns.

According to other sources, President Akufo-Addo yesterday met with all the ministers and deputy ministers who were leaving, shifting places or joining his government.

These changes are anticipated to introduce fresh perspectives, new expertise, and enhanced efficiency across the ministries.
