Miss Tourism Ghana 2022 has been launched to continue the tradition of promoting the rich cultural heritage and tourist destinations across the country.
Miss Tourism Ghana is one of the most influential beauty pageants in Ghana, solely dedicated to projecting the tourism sector.
Over the years it created the avenue for selling destination Ghana locally and internationally.
This year’s pageant will take place on September 2 at the National Theatre in Accra.
The launching ceremony was held at the Tang Palace Hotel in Accra on April 29 under the theme, “Tourism The Heart of Ghana.”
It was attended by several personalities from the tourism sector and the event’s sponsors.
Speaking to the media, Delphine Brew-Hammond, Director of the Miss Tourism Ghana organization said, “The pageant is also an opportunity for young women to know more about their culture and heritage.”
The pageant is open to ladies from the age of 18 to 26 who are willing to become Tourism ambassadors for Ghana.
The contest will commence with various auditions in some major parts of the country, starting in Tamale on May 14, 2022.
In all, about 40 ladies will be picked from the auditions and later the numbers will be trimmed down to 16 ladies for the main pageant.
