Miss Universe Ghana contestants
Maltz Promotions, organisers of Miss Universe Ghana, have declared their readiness to stage the 2018 edition of the pageant on Saturday night in an atmosphere of glitz and glamour.
The event will be held at the luxurious Labadi Beach Hotel and will be broadcast live on Joy Prime TV at 7:00pm.
The lead organiser of the show, Menaye Donkor, who is also a former winner of the competition, says her team will leave no stone unturned in its quest to give patrons a good show.
Items lined up on the bill indicate that this year’s event will be a complete package of good music, talent displays, intellectual contest and all-round beauty.
King Promise and Adina will be on the bill to give the contestants, judges and patrons the best tunes from their individual repertoires to spice up the night.
The search for Miss Universe Ghana 2018, also known as ‘Ghana’s Next Sweetheart’, began a few weeks ago with over 200 ladies.
Ten contestants managed to pass the numerous tests and will seek to outdo one another for the only ticket to represent Ghana at this year’s Miss Universe international pageant in December.
Each of the 10 finalists will represent one of the 10 regions of Ghana and are expected to reflect the qualities of a true Ghanaian lady.
Michaelina Mary Stampoulous Dankwa will represent the Ashanti Region. She is 20 years old and a level 400 student of Ghana Media School.
The Brong-Ahafo Region will be represented by Akpene Diata Hoggar, who is a model, blogger and entrepreneur and also aspires to become a global change agent.
From the Central Region is Pascalina Nuamah Yeboah, 24, a Diplomat in Basic Education (French option) from the Mount Mary College of Education.
Daisy Obeng Nkansah, 24, who holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from KNUST, will contest on the ticket of the Eastern Region, while Gifty Nyamekye Quansah flies on the wings of the Greater Accra Region.
The Northern Regional contestant is Anita Sampana, 25, a university graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology.
Naa Yemotiokor Odoi, a 23-year-old past student of the School of Social Work, will represent the Upper East Region.
For the Upper West Region, we have Silvia Naa Morkor Commodore, a second year Radford University College student studying Business Administration.
The Volta Region has Regina Afiba Dadzie, 21, a former student of Alliance Française and currently the human resource officer for the Models Artistic Alliance Organisation.
Vanessa Tekor Akuetteh, a budding paralegal and a model, will mount the stage on behalf of the Western Region.
