A Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, Samuel Nuertey Ayertey, has encouraged the various metropolitan, municipal and district chief executives (MMDCES) in the region to ‘work extra hard’ towards the realisation of the President’s resolve to accelerate the development of the country.

The deputy minister who made the call when he embarked on his maiden working visit to inspect completed and ongoing government projects in the various assemblies in the region also charged them to ensure the policies, programmes and vision of the NPP government were effectively achieved to satisfy the expectations of the people.

The Deputy Regional Minister visited Akyemansa, Birim North, Kwahu West, Kwahu South, Kwahu East, Kwahu Afram Plains South and Kwahu Afram Plains North assemblies on his first week of the tour.

In his interactions with the MMDCEs, he stated that his duty is to coordinate the performance of the various assemblies and ascertain the support they need from government to develop the assemblies.

He also used the tour to interact with management and staff of the various assemblies to assess their performances.

He said the Regional Coordinating Council was committed to working to ensure the fulfillment of the promises the President made to Ghanaians.

The deputy minister advised the MMDCEs to eschew complacency and pettiness that could potentially jeopardize the successes chalked up by the government and deny the people of the needed development.

Most of the staff and management expressed their appreciation to the deputy regional minister for coming down to observe the operations of the assemblies.
