MOG Wins Big At Praise Achievement Awards

 

Award-winning Ghanaian contemporary gospel singer and songwriter Nana Yaw Boakye, better known by his stage name MOG Music, has won the enviable Artiste of the Year award at the maiden edition of the Praise Achievement Awards 2022.

The awards ceremony was held at the Oil Dome, Royal House Chapel International, Accra, on Sunday, December 18, 2022.

MOG also won the Male Artiste of the Year category.

For the two awards, he beat the likes of Joe Mettle, Diana Hamilton, Empress Gifty, Celestine Donkor, Ohemaa Mercy, and Obaapa Christy.

Credited with numerous awards, MOG Music after his debut album in 2016, ‘New Wine’, received the African Gospel Music Awards nominations for ‘Album of the Year’ and ‘Discovery of the Year’.

He subsequently released a single ‘Making It Big’ featuring Sarkodie, which has garnered a lot of views on various streaming platforms.

Worship in Motion, a Christian dance group, also won the Dance Group of the Year award, dedicating their win to the church which has nurtured them.

The Praise Achievement Awards, which is aimed at honouring African gospel musicians in and outside Africa who have contributed immensely to the work of God, awarded other renowned artistes including Scott Evans, Harmonious Chorale, Bethel Revival Choir, Rev. P. J. Markwei, ACP Kofi Sarpong, Joe Mettle, Diana A. Hamilton, Ohemaa Mercy and Obaapa Christy, Herty Corgie, Dr. Fletcher Narh, Millicent Yankey, Nii Addo, Vickie Pittman Keller, Nii Addo, and Joyous Celebration (South Africa).

The awards ceremony saw powerful ministration from musicians including MOG, Preye Odede, Diana Antwi Hamilton, Sinach, Pastor Dadson, Perez, Joe Mettle, and many others.
