MOG
Pastor Nana Yaw Boakye, known on stage as MOG, appears to be taking over the Ghanaian gospel music scene with the release of his new song, ‘Be Lifted’.
The worship song is already in second position on Ghana’s iTunes after its release a couple of weeks ago, standing shoulder tall with other hit songs in the music industry.
MOG’s new single, which was recorded among other songs on his yet-to-be released ‘Better Me’ album, has hit 70k views in three weeks on YouTube.
Looking at the rate at which the number of likes and views are increasing, it would not come as a surprise if ‘Be Lifted’ hits the top most position on iTunes and stays there for a long time.
MOG’s album featured some of the big names in the gospel industry like Ohemaa Mercy, Nii Okai, Michael Stuckey from the USA and Kingzkid. Speaking with NEWS-ONE, MOG pointed out that the source of the success of his music is the Lord.
“It came as a surprise but then again I believe the Lord is the one blessing the works of my hands,” he said.
According to MOG, the ‘Better Me’ album will be launched in this month.
He added that the album is going to be mind-blowing and spirit-filled.
MOG is a versatile and highly gifted musician who has been very active in the Ghana gospel showbiz scene for years. He is also one of the worship pastors and music director for the 700-member mass choir of the Royalhouse Chapel International.
While known as a premier figure in the gospel music scene, MOG has shared the stage with popular gospel musicians like Cwesi Oteng, Nii Okai, the late Danny Nettey, Joe Mettle, Francis Amo and many others.
He has also shared the stage with international artistes like Dr. Ron Kenoly and Pastor Uche Agu of ‘Double Double’ fame.
