MoneyGram, Citi Fm Promote Writing Excellence

MoneyGram and its partner agents have agreed to include an essay competition as part of the MoneyGram Annual Back to School campaign.

The essay competition is aimed at helping children to improve their reading and writing abilities.

Basic school-children between the ages of 12 and 16 are invited to share their views on a given topic in the MoneyGram Back to School Essay competition.

Since 2013, all winners have been girls from various schools.

Josephine Afful, Efua Keteku and Hillary Ackah have been the standout winners for year 2013, 2014 & 2015 respectively. Twelve consolation winners were also awarded each year for their efforts.

This year, MoneyGram and its partner agents are collaborating and sponsoring Citi FM’s 2016 Write Away Contest to enable more children participate and win prizes.

Citi FM’s Write Away Contest has been rewarding writing excellence for pupils aged 10-14 for the past few years.

Both partners have combined resources to make the Write Away Contest bigger and provide attractive prizes for participants and their schools.

The Citi FM Write Away Contest is open to all children between the ages of 10 and 14.

Participants are to submit a story which ends with the phrase Fortune Favours the Bold.

Stories must not be more than 600 words.

Children stand the chance of winning grand cash prize of GH¢5,000 and another GH¢10,000 for their school.

All stories are to be sent to The Citi Write Away Contest. MoneyGram provides remittance services in partnership with 22 partner banks and is available in over 2,000 locations nationwide.
