Mpraeso Assembly MeetsThe Press

A scene during the programme

EMMANUEL Atta Ofori, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Kwahu South District in the Eastern Region, says all the government flagship projects and programmes are progressing steadily in the district.

Speaking at the assembly’s first meet-the-press briefing at Mpraeso, he said, “The government’s flagship programme of Free SHS and others are steadily on course in the district.”

He disclosed that the government’s $1 million per constituency was being used to construct modern solar-powered W/C, mechanised boreholes and some CHPS compounds in the district.

He said the assembly made inroads in education where brilliant but needy students had been awarded scholarships to the tune of GH¢60,000 under the decentralised scholarship scheme.

He said agriculture, which has been boosted by the Planting for Food and Jobs initiative, was doing well and many farmers had benefitted from subsidised fertilizer and other farming inputs.

He stated that the assembly had supported persons with disability to the tune of GH¢319,000 in the form of Financial & Business support in the past two and a half years.

Besides, the DCE said they were working hard to fix myriads of problems facing the district and added that the Akufo-Addo administration was committed to ensuring the prosperity of Ghana.
