Newly-appointed Chief Marketing Officer of MTN Ghana Asher Yaqub Khan has spoken highly of the game of golf after his first encounter with the sport at the Tema Country Golf Club (TCGC).
To him, golf is a channel to engage its cherished stakeholders and create a stronger relationship with them, hence the MTN Golf Classic.
He revealed that golf is a game for highly skilled and organized enthusiasts and pledged his outfit’s continued support for the sport in the country.
The Chief Marketing Officer pointed out that the Asantehene Gold Cup, the CEO’s Invitational tournaments, MTN Spoon Golf etc, attests to his company’s commitment to the development of golf.
He said “Services such as MTN Asset Tracking service, MTN Directory Services Business, Caller Tunez and MTN SME Plus have been designed to help you to work more efficiently to stay ahead of competition.”
It was Peter Amenyo, who grabbed the Men’s A category(HCP 0-14) top award after a 68 net score, after beating Ekow Nyarko on count back. Patrick Tender and Godwin Asem followed in that order.
Men’s Group B(HCP 19-20) was dominated by Chris Aidoo, who recorded a 67 net with Joe Dadson (70net) Felix Owusu Adjapong (73) following.
Ace golfer Mona Myers Lamptey, 72 net beat Adelaide Owusu Adjapong on count back to finish first in the ladies category A, while Gladys Awuni picked the ladies category B event after recording a 73 net score to beat Naomi Addo.
