The Mobile Telephone Network (MTN), a multinational mobile telecommunications company, has activated measures aimed at disabling devices used for fraudulent transactions.

Madam Georgina Asare Fiagbenu, the Head of Corporate Communications at MTN Ghana speaking at the MTN Media and Stakeholders Engagement held in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital, disclosed this and warned subscribers to be vigilant with the recent increase in scamming.

According to her, MTN aims to accelerate growth by building the largest and most valuable platform in the country.

Madam Fiagbenu urged road constructors, especially in Ghana, to be cautious about MTN fibre, which laid underground to provide high-speed internet to subscribers.

She explained that the media engagement aims at disseminating MTN activities, sharing information, and responding to the feedback from customers in the region.

Madam Fiagbenu stated that fibres help MTN to speed up its mandate for better service delivery in the country, and therefore advised road constructors to seek permission from the district assemblies before commencing road projects to help prevent fibre-cutting.

Touching on the corporate social investments, Madam Fiagbenu said that MTN has undertaken one hundred and fifty-nine (159) projects as its corporate social responsibility at a cost of GH¢93m.

She added that MTN has awarded scholarships to over 1,400 students to further their education at various universities in the country.
