MTN Ghana and MobileMoney Fintech Limited have reaffirmed their commitment to youth empowerment, skills development, and leadership growth after joining other corporate partners at the grand finale of the Success Africa Summit.
The event, held at Central University in Accra, marked the climax of a nationwide tour that engaged students across 13 universities, bringing together industry leaders to mentor and equip young people for the job market.
Speaking on behalf of MobileMoney Fintech Limited, the Head of Legal and Reputation Management, Paapa Osei, said initiatives like the Success Africa Summit have created a platform for students to gain exposure beyond the classroom and better understand how to navigate real-world challenges.
He noted that supporting the programme aligns with the MTN Foundation’s focus on education, adding that such engagements provide an opportunity for professionals to share practical knowledge that students can apply in their daily lives.
According to him, interactions with industry players are crucial in shaping students’ career paths and preparing them for future opportunities.
During his presentation, Mr. Osei urged students to adopt a mindset of accountability under the theme “No excuses, just results.”
He emphasised that young people must take ownership of their personal and professional journeys, push beyond self-imposed limitations, and remain disciplined in pursuing their goals.
Acting General Manager for Sustainability and Shared Value at MTN Ghana, Georgina Asare Fiagbenu, also encouraged students to prioritise preparation and discipline.
She stressed that success requires intentional planning, consistency, and the ability to stay focused while avoiding distractions.
In an interview, she stated that MTN Ghana would continue to invest in youth development through its foundation, with a focus on nurturing future leaders equipped with relevant skills and knowledge.
She revealed that digital skills programmes are being expanded nationwide to support young people in adapting to the demands of the modern workforce.
Ms. Fiagbenu further underscored the importance of sustained collaboration between academic institutions and industry, noting that continuous mentorship and access to digital opportunities are critical to preparing young people for the evolving world of work.
Executive Director of the Success Africa Foundation, Albert Kusi, said the initiative was designed to bridge the gap between education and employment by equipping students with industry-relevant skills.
He disclosed that the programme has reached more than 400,000 young people across nearly 100 institutions nationwide.
He added that MTN and other partners contributed prizes and resources, including mobile devices and financial incentives, to support students and encourage innovation.
The Success Africa Summit continues to grow as a key platform for empowering the next generation, fostering leadership, and promoting practical learning experiences that align with industry needs.
