MTN Ghana, as part of it annually support to the La Traditional Council in the Greater Accra Region has donated an amount of GH¢10,000, airtime worth GH¢1,000 and drink hampers ahead of the Homowo celebration.
The donation which was received by the La Homowo Planning Committee forms part of MTNâs core objectivity to connecting families, friends and business through the services it provide to customers within the traditional council.
Addressing the traditional leaders, Manager Southeast Business District, Kwasi Osei Hyeaman, stated that MTN believes festivals project the African society which forms an integral part for the development of communities.
âThe commercial activities tied to these celebrations improve the economic conditions of the celebrating communities. This is why MTN Ghana continues to lend its support to over 40 festivals across the countryâ he added.
He also emphasized that MTNâs support to La and other traditional areas across the country forms part of its quest to delight customers and make their lives a whole lot brighter.
As part of the celebration MTN will set up an experience centers at vantage points to aid in the SIM registrations and also help customers to reconnect their SIM with the Ghana Card and register those who need similar services.
âWe hope that through this festival we will be able to strengthen our relationship with our customers in the community and help resolve some of the customer issues that may need attention,â he said.
Mr. Osei Hyeaman further appealed to the Planning Committee to grant MTN an opportunity to embark on MoMo fraud sensitization during the celebrations, adding, âWe all have to help educate our cherished customers on the benefits of keeping their phones and wallets safeâ.
Speaking on behalf of the Traditional Council, La Shikitele Nii Adjei Koofeh IV, expressed gratitude to MTN Ghana for their contribution towards the Homowo celebration slated for August, 23, 2023.
Nii Adjei Koofeh IV also seized the opportunity to appeal to the telecommunication giant to extend it charitable initiative, The MTN Foundation, to help develop health, education and social empowerment projects for the community.
