A section of Ghanaian musicians who have declared their support for Deborah Freeman yesterday called on other musicians to vote massively for her as the 2nd vice president of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).

The MUSIGA election comes off on June 26 this year and Deborah Freeman is contesting for the 2nd vice president position with Abena Ruthy, also a gospel musician.

The musicians who visited the offices of DAILY GUIDE on Tuesday told BEATWAVES that Deborah has worked tirelessly to promote the image of the union.

According to them, if Deborah is voted as MUSIGA second vice president, they are convinced that she would improve the general standard of living of the musicians in the country.

They added that she would also makeconscious efforts to create jobs for Ghanaian musicians, as well as put in place policies that would protect their interest.

The musicians indicated that the job of the MUSIGA 2nd vice president is very demanding and so requires someone who does not only have the ability to do the job, but more especially the energy to run around.

“We don’t know about the other musicians, but we think MUSIGA, under Deborah’s management, would make things better for us,” they added.

The musicians commended her for her immense contribution towards the building of an energetic music industry in the country.

Speaking in an interview, Deborah Freeman, who will launch her campaign in the second week of May, disclosed that if elected, she would work tirelessly to rebrand the image of the union to make it more attractive to musicians and industry stakeholders.

She, however, promised to work hard to improve the living standards of members of the union and musicians in general.
