The Volta regional branch of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) will on Saturday, August 27 host the maiden edition of its music reality show dubbed ‘Volta MUSIGA Talent Hunt’ at the St Francis College of Education, Hohoe in the Volta Region.
The talent hunt forms part of the union’s social responsibility to help the youth to develop their talents.
The Volta regional branch of MUSIGA feels it is important to acknowledge the talents of the youth and help them nurture it for the future.
Chairman of the Volta regional of MUSIGA, Anthony Dagbey, in a statement disclosed that the goal of the talent show is to develop talent, inspire and unearth the music passion hidden in the youth.
According to him, MUSIGA’s talent hunt is the newest and innovative reality show designed to groom and prepare young aspiring artistes, giving them the platform to build confidence and also unearth their God-given talents.
He said there were a lot of talents in the region which needed to be unearthed and nurtured. “We believe these free auditions will help many young people in Ghana to realise their full potential,” he added.
Anthony Dagbey hinted that the outfit has negotiated with a number of music production firms who have indicated their willingness to help develop the talent in the youth.
The Volta regional chairman of MUSIGA said the region has been grouped into four zones, and the ‘MUSIGA Talent Hunt’ train will move from zone to zone.
He said during the talent hunt, three contestants will be selected from each zone to compete among themselves at the final event.
He said the winner of the event will be rewarded with a recording deal and some souvenirs from organisers and sponsors.
