My Bad Strategist Comment Not For Bawumia But An MP- Ken Agyapong

Ken Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, has clarified that his recent comment about bad strategist was not directed towards Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia but a colleague lawmaker.

The statement caused a heated debate in political circles a week ago, leading to widespread speculation that the MP had insulted the Vice President, whom he holds in high regards.

During a recent campaign tour of Upper West region, Mr Agyapong criticized certain individuals within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for their poor strategic planning, which negatively impacts the party’s reputation.

He has now clarified that his remarks were not aimed at Vice President Bawumia, who he believes is an effective leader.

Speaking to Home Radio in the Upper West Region, Mr Agyapong explained that his comment was intended to address the several NPP members who make ill-advised decisions, rather than the Vice President.

He commended Vice President Bawumia’s strategic thinking and demonstrated competency to effectively strategize for the party and the country as a whole.

“I have the utmost respect for Vice President Bawumia and his strategic thinking. He has demonstrated time and again his ability to effectively strategize for the benefit of the party and the country as a whole,” Mr Agyapong stated during the interview.

Despite his clarification, the NPP Presidential hopeful acknowledged that there are indeed some members within the NPP who need to reevaluate their approaches.

He urged the party’s leadership to take prompt action in identifying and rectifying these issues to ensure the party’s continued success.

The MP for Assin Central further expressed his disappointment with the media for not always disseminating the full stories on issues, indicating that a portion of his speech was captured in the story that circulated the untrue comment about Dr. Bawumia.

This clarification by Ken Agyapong puts to rest the speculation that he insulted Vice President Bawumia, highlighting the importance of clear communication and context in public discourse.
