President Akufo-Addo and Rebecca Akufo-Addo
First couple, President Akufo-Addo and Rebecca Akufo-Addo once again made love look beautiful as they rekindled the spark in their relationship in a unique open display of love when the President celebrated his 77th birthday yesterday.
The First Lady got everyone talking on Monday when she picked a line from Ghanaian afro-fusion singer and songwriter, Gyakie’s hit single titled: ‘Forever’ to wish the President a happy birthday.
She wrote, “Happy Birthday Mr. President (love emoji)My mind dey for you 🎶 (wink).”
The First Lady and President have always showcased deep love for each other publicly.
Many social media users have praised the First Lady’s caption to her husband, as she and the love of her life trended heavily on Twitter and Instagram on Monday.
President Akufo-Addo and Rebecca have been married for about 24 years.
In 2017, the same year President Akufo-Addo first assumed power as President of Ghana, they celebrated the 20th anniversary of their marriage.
Over the last two decades plus of holy matrimony, the couple is blessed with five children namely; Gyankroma Akufo-Addo, Edwina Nana Dokua Akufo-Addo, Adriana Dukua Akufo-Addo, Yeboakua Akufo-Addo and Valerie Obaze.
Social media and mainstream media were awash with messages of goodwill to President Akufo-Addo.
Even though he was far away in the Spanish capital of Madrid attending the ‘Focus Africa 2023’ Conference, there was an outpour of love for the President.
Chief among them was the message from the woman the President fondly refers to as ‘My Lady Rebecca.’
In a similar Facebook post, Vice President Bawumia wrote, “Happy Birthday to my boss, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. May God bless you for all the good works you continue to do for Ghana.
“Your achievements so far have been phenomenal and I wish you long life and heavenly wisdom to keep leading Ghana to greater heights.”
Second Lady, Samira Bawumia, was not left out either as she also wrote in a Facebook post, “Today, we celebrate a man of bold vision, integrity and a passion to serve our dear nation. Happy birthday Mr. President!”
Some Ghanaians also joined the fray in sending the President their good wishes.
