NABCO Directs Trainees To Remain At Post

The Management of the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) has directed all its trainees who ended their services this year to return to post.

This follows a high level meeting with all relevant stakeholders of the module including the Vice-President.

NABCO trainees contract with Government of Ghana ended in October, 2021, per their engagement letter as many were left wondering what is next for them.

In light of this, a statement available to DGN Online said the Nation Builders Corps has directed all trainees in line with their exit preparation after serving the country for 3years to remain at post as the management discuss plans for a permanent job.

“Following a high-level stakeholder meeting with the lead NABCO module implementation partners (MIPs) led by the Vice-President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia all NABCO trainees are to remain at post,” the statement said.

It continued “the NABCO Secretariat expects all trainees to continue to discharge their duties diligently and professionally at their various workplaces whilst the scheme and MIPs work towards a smooth final transition.”

According to NABCO Management, a new cohort of NABCO trainees will be recruited into the service to serve the nation at various sectors when the next academic year begins in 2022.

Meanwhile, the Executive Director of NABCO, Ibrahim Anyars has said the programme has been successful because it achieved its aim of amplifying the employability profile of graduates to be legible for employment after their exit point.

“The scheme is very successful because all the schemes that we set to do and the mandates stipulated by the President has been achieved. It has been a great success for this administration,” the NABCO Director said in an interview.

According to the CEO, the scheme addressed issues like work experience, professionalism, interview values, and other qualities that kept beneficiaries away from the job market.

The professional training and work experience he said has enriched the employable skills of beneficiaries who have gone through career guidance transition and are yet to be employed in either the public or private sector.

“The scheme was a structured partnership and a structured learning programme to assist graduates exit with career pathways and help in their exit profiles,” he said.
