NACOB Denies Amoateng

Eric Amoateng

The Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) has denied social media reports that former Nkoranza North MP, Eric Amoateng is now a governing board member of the anti-drug agency.

While reports on social media and other news portals claimed the ex-drug convict has been appointed as a member of NACOB board, others alleged the president was considering him as a member of the board.

A statement following the false information reads ‘NACOB wishes to inform the general public that Eric Amoateng is not within the employ of NACOB, neither is he a member of the Governing Board.’

Describing the claims as “untrue”, NACOB urged the public to treat the false information with the contempt it deserves.

NACOB, DAILY GUIDE has learnt, as at now has no governing board.

Mr. Amoateng was on December 11, 2005 arrested in US for narcotic offences. He was convicted of possession of heroin and was subsequently jailed 10 years which he served in a US prison.
