Henry Nana Boakye
The National Youth Organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye has dropped a strong hint that he will stand for his party’s National Organiser position next year.
Nana Boakye, who is affectionately called Nana B, has been a key personality in youth development.
The Board Chairman of the National Food Buffer Stock Company said the final decision about his possible entry would be made in the appropriate time, having successfully steered the affairs of the NPP Youth Wing since 2018 to date.
Nana B, a lawyer by profession, was one of the spokespersons of the NPP Legal Team for the 2020 presidential election petition and the MMDCEs vetting committee, 2021.
He began his education at the State Experimental Primary School in Kumasi and Achimota J.H.S in Accra, and continued at the Prempeh College in Kumasi, where he left to the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) and later the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
He is currently studying oil and gas management at Coventry University, where he will later graduate with a Master of Science degree.
With a solid track record in politics as well, the NPP National Youth Organiser has used both aspects of his background to appeal to voters and mobilise support for the party, delivering two consecutive victories for the NPP.
According to him, the NPP will need to consolidate its gains and will therefore, need a successful youth mobiliser to understand how to get the numbers for the party in its quest to break the eight-year power alteration in the country.
Nana B, who is also the Vice Chairman of the International Young Democrats Union (IYDU), said he is aware that the NPP could count on his ability to connect with younger voters to increase the party’s appeal to the masses.
As a responsible politician, he stated that he speaks the language of people in the markets and lorry stations, not just the business elites.
