Nana Begins Eastern Tour

President Nana Addo Dankwah  Akufo-Addo on Wednesday, paid a working visit to the Volta River Authority, to inspect the hydro-power plant at Akosombo in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region.

The first visit to the place since the president assumed the highest office, formed part of his three-day tour of the region.

President Akufo-Addo, who was accompanied by some staff from the Presidency among other appointees and regional executives of the ruling party, was briefed by the officials about how the hydro-power plant functions.

From Akosombo the president and his entourage moved straight to Oterkpolu where he inspected the abandoned Community Day School project in the Yilo Krobo municipality and later stormed Asesewa to grace a durbar of chiefs and people of the area.

As part of his tour, President Akufo-Addo will visit some abandoned government projects on Thursday and also assess work done on some roads.

Day two of the tour will begin with an inspection of completed work on the Nkawkaw-Atibie road in Kwahu, then an inspection of a proposed technical college at Akyem Afosu in the New Abirem District. He would also visit the Youth Training Centre at Takorase in the Denkyembuor District.

President Akufo-Addo will on Friday visit the Community Day Senior High School at Anum Apapam.

He will also inspect the Agro-Tech Ghana Limited Poultry Farm and Hatchery at Akyem Apedwa before moving to his home town, Kyebi.

The president will end his 3-day tour in Koforidua, the regional capital, with an inspection of the abandoned Affordable Housing Project; and grace a durbar of chiefs and people of New Juaben at the Koforidua Jackson Park.
