Nana Pays 7-Day Visit To 3 Northern Regions

President Nana Akufo-Addo

President Nana Akufo-Addo arrives in the Upper East Region today as part of his seven-day working visit to the three northern regions.

This is the second time he is visiting the region after assuming power in 2017.

The President is expected to cut sod for the construction of a Buffer Stock Warehouse at Pusu-Namoo in the Talensi district on arrival; then move on to inspect work on the Bongo-Balungu-Namoo-Zorko road in the Bongo district.

This road is very important to the people of the Bongo District as well as the Assembly, for the purpose of cross-border trading and revenue mobilization respectively, as the road makes the journey from Ghana to Burkina-Faso shorter.

He is also expected to visit Kuyellingo-Bongo to inspect an on-going work on a “One Village, One Dam” Project, before meeting with Chiefs of the Bongo Traditional Area today.

The President will visit the Kassena-Nankana Municipality tomorrow Friday July 20, to inspect the Navrongo-Chuchuliga-Sandema Road and cut another sod for the construction of a modern Police District Headquarters for the Builsa North District, before meeting Chiefs of the Builsa Traditional Area.

He will be meeting the Municipal and District Chief Executives in the region to possibly talk about their roles in attracting development projects to their districts and intensify the mobilization of their Internally Generated Fund.

The President will not visit the Bawku Traditional Area per his itinerary, and so much meanings have been read into it, with some members of the opposition National Democratic Congress painting the picture that, the President is dodging the rough nature of the road and also because works on the Bolgatanga-Bawku Road have stalled.

However, some members of the New Patriotic Party Communication Team explained that, the President is visiting other areas of the region where he did not visit during his first tour of the region.
