Nana Promises Interchanges For Ashanti

President Nana Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo has assured the people of Kumasi that modern interchanges that befit the status of Kumasi, would be constructed in the city very soon.

According to him, his administration would use its final term of four years to construct flyovers in the Ashanti Region to help boost the movement of goods and people.

President Akufo-Addo, who was being interviewed on Opemsuo FM, said after the composition of his cabinet, the flyovers to be constructed in Kumasi would be announced.

“Interchanges would be constructed in Kumasi by my government to help beautify the city and also improve the movement of goods and people. It is surely coming.

“When cabinet is formed, we shall officially announce to the public the number of road projects, especially, the interchanges that would be constructed in Kumasi,” he said.

President Akufo-Addo, whose interview with the radio station was very brief, said Kumasi was dear to his heart so the region would get its fair share of the national cake.

“My government’s intention to effectively develop the Ashanti Region has started already; the Boankra Inland Port, a major transformative project, is a clear example.

“We have a big programme to develop the Ashanti Region and in due time you shall all see my government’s plan to transform this region,” the President firmly assured.

President Akufo-Addo said the necessary government support, needed to make the Boankra Inland Project a reality, would be given at all times by his administration.

He also promised that the Mother and Baby Unit (MBU) project, started at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) over 40 years ago, would be completed in his time.

President Akufo-Addo urged residents in the Ashanti Region and for that matter, Ghana in general, to exercise patience and give his government the support to deliver.
