The Chief Imam of Wenchi, Sheikh Isa Ibrahim, has urged the Muslim community to pray for Energy Minister, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, to be selected as the running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Sheikh Isa Ibrahim also encouraged the Muslim community to show strong support for Dr. Bawumia in the 2024 general election.

The Chief Imam made these remarks following a donation of items from a delegation representing the Energy Minister, led by former constituency youth organizer, Richard Kwadwo.

The donated items included bags of rice and boxes of oil.

During Muslim prayers at the Wenchi Municipal Chief Imam’s Mosque, Sheikh Isa Ibrahim recited verses from the Quran and emphasized that the power to appoint leaders lies with Allah.

He appealed to Allah to guide Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in selecting his running mate to develop effective policies and programs for the country’s progress.

He also urged members of the NPP to unite and work towards a common objective. While acknowledging the competition for the running mate position, Sheikh Isa Ibrahim stressed the importance of unity once a candidate is selected, urging everyone to support Dr. Bawumia’s campaign wholeheartedly.

Sheikh Isa Ibrahim emphasized the unity among Muslims and the support of Christians in the country, despite their large population, as a blessing from Allah.

He appealed for peaceful and fair elections, emphasizing the need for a violence-free electoral process.

Deputy Municipal Chief Imam also urged the Muslim youth to resist being manipulated into violent acts by politicians during the 2024 election, stating that Allah has already answered their prayers through the Quranic recitation.
