NDC Are Angry, As Defeat Beckons Them – Bawumia Fires

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the 2024 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has taken a swipe at his opponents, saying they are no longer confident of winning the upcoming elections, but are instead consumed by anger as they see defeat looming.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia made these comments on Monday at the New Patriotic Party NPP, Headquarters, shortly after submitting his presidential nomination forms to the Electoral Commission at its Ridge Office in Accra.

The NPP flagbearer, who is seeking to succeed his boss, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, as the next President of Ghana, was in high spirits as he addressed a gathering of party supporters and officials.

“Our opponents, a year ago, seem very confident, but today, rather than being confident, they seem very angry, as they see themselves losing this election,” Dr. Bawumia said, with a hint of a smile on his face.

Dr. Bawumia’s comments are seen as a direct jab at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, who is hoping to make a comeback to the presidency after losing two straight elections in 2016 and 2020 to President Akufo-Addo.

The NDC has been vocal about its chances of winning the 2024 elections, with Mr. Mahama and his supporters expressing confidence that they will emerge victorious.

However, Dr. Bawumia’s comments suggest that the NPP is not taking the NDC’s boasts lightly, and is instead focused on its own campaign, which is built around the party’s achievements over the past eight years, as well as its vision for the future.

Dr. Bawumia has been touting his vision for Ghana, which includes transforming the economy, improving infrastructure, and enhancing the living standards of Ghanaians.

The NPP flagbearer has also been highlighting his own achievements as Vice President, including his role in the implementation of various government policies and programs, such as the Free SHS program, the National Identification System, and the Digital Address System.

With the 2024 elections just a few months away, the campaign is heating up, and Dr. Bawumia’s comments are likely to add fuel to the fire.

The NPP and the NDC are expected to engage in a fierce battle for votes, with both parties confident of emerging victorious.

However, Dr. Bawumia’s comments suggest that the NPP is not intimidated by the NDC’s boasts, and is instead focused on its own campaign, which it believes will resonate with Ghanaians.

As the campaign season heats up, Ghanaians can expect more fireworks from both sides, as the two main parties battle for supremacy.
